Kenneth Hart discovers that the girl he is engaged to marry, Nicole Bishop, is overweight. She faces ridicule and is cruelly compared to a pig. Kenneth feels ashamed, but Nicole takes a stand for herself. Despite the humiliation, she allows the emcee to continue hosting the ceremony. During the vows, Kenneth reluctantly agrees out of obligation to his family. However, over time, he grows to resent Nicole and begins mistreating her.
